• Theometrica

Theometrica is a sound interface that explores the relation of ethnologic, geometric graphics and generative sound synthesis.

Inspired by acupuncture, a traditional chinese medicine technique based on the insertion and manipulation of needles, this sculptural instrument is designed to control sound elements in real time by fixing specific pins into a spinning disk. Furthermore, its interface design represents an active space where geometrical constellations are being decoded into sound events.

The development of this prototype starts a research process which aims to explore the correlation between geometry, probability and synthesis sound generation, with a focus in performance.
