„the Wall“ – The next step in wallpaper design

Wallpapers have a long tradition. In the 11th century they started replacing royal tapestries and came across the Orient to win over the rest of the world. With their different styles, they can transform walls into personal visual statements and equip any room with individuality, warmth and spirit.

In collaboration with Graham & Brown, a family-run, innovative company from England, a group of international students from the courses of product, industrial, textile and fashion design got together at the Berlin University of the Arts to create new and exciting wallpaper designs.

The best designs of this jointly proclaimed competition are produced by Graham & Brown as part of their collection for 2015. Besides these wallpaper designs, the exhibition will show new experimental wallpaper concepts which reinterpret the wall as a surface for innovative forms of design and usage.
